The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Ajmal Iqbal, met the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representative Dr Abdel Rahim Al Maiya Al Zaidah at his office on Sunday.
During the meeting they highlighted the increase in the depth of the Jordan-Pakistan friendship relations, which are supported by the leaders of the two countries, and the need to seek to strengthen and build on them at various levels, especially at the parliamentary, economic and tourist levels, which reflects positively on the interests of the friendly countries and peoples.
Al-Zaida stressed the need to support His Majesty King Abdullah II’s positions and his efforts to stop the war on Gaza, calling for the need to mobilize international efforts to find a political horizon that guarantees the opportunities for achieving fair and inclusive peace based on the two-state solution and international legitimacy decisions.
Pakistan’s stand in support of the Palestinian cause and advocating for stopping the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip has increased, praising the relief and humanitarian aid provided by Pakistan to the Hashim charity to be delivered to its brothers in the Gaza Strip.
For his part, the Pakistani ambassador praised the depth of the historic relations between the two friendly countries, emphasizing that his country was keen to develop joint relations with Jordan in various parliamentary, economic, commercial, tourism and educational spheres.
He said that his country’s position coincides perfectly with Jordan’s position on the Palestinian issue and the Israeli war on the Gaza strip, calling for intensifying international efforts to stop the war and deliver relief and humanitarian aids to the sector.
Ambassador Iqbal stressed the need to coordinate efforts between Jordanian and Pakistani parliamentarians and exchange experiences in order to achieve common interests of both countries.
